Pam Thomas is an artist who works across several disciplines, including ceramic sculpture, embroidery and painting. Each medium offers her a different way to explore and express her creativity.

Sculpture is the main focus of her practice. Using her own observational drawings of the human form, Pam develops these studies into ceramic sculptures, exploring the shape, movement and character of the body.

Her embroidery has recently developed into a larger body of work, inspired by the beauty and vulnerability of the natural world, particularly endangered species. Through intricate and detailed stitching, Pam explores her deep connection to nature and expresses her concern for the fragile world around us.

Alongside her sculpture and embroidery, Pam also paints. Whenever possible, she works outdoors, painting directly from the landscape and responding quickly to capture the atmosphere and feeling of the moment. She often makes written and visual notes alongside her paintings, allowing her to continue developing the work back in the studio.
